Being privileged is like walking through a hallway of open doors. Those who effortlessly stroll through, might not even notice the doors they are passing by. But isn’t recognizing and acknowledging privilege a necessary step in the movement towards a more equal society? And how do we deal with privilege & racism in a school context? Between broken pieces of an old colonial world, prof. Orhan Agirdag (KU Leuven) and Anya Topolski (Radboud University Nijmegen) converse about privilege and ethnic profiling in the Belgian and Dutch educational system.
Based on five statement, they provoke complex conversations about what it means to be white and how this influences our educational system. Stimulated by their dialogue, the public is also invited to think along.
